ETA summary

Numerous JORDAHL® products have ETA approval and the corresponding software. We would like to briefly and clearly explain what exactly this means for you and what your advantages are.

Economical, reliable and flexible design
The introduction of the new European Technical Approval for JORDAHL® products represents the current state of the technology of anchoring and reinforcement in concrete, as it always orients itself around the most recent status of engineering standards. Consequently, the JORDAHL® products can be optimally designed. The test procedures for the ETA are also amongst the strictest in the world and guarantee – together with the CE marking - a qualitatively first-class and durable product.

ETA for JORDAHL® JTA anchor channels

Based on the Technical Report 047: "Design on Anchor Channels": : This concept is based on the European partial safety factor concept and allows the safe and precise design of JORDAHL® anchor channels (ETA-09/0338) based on the European Technical Assessment. This leads to a generally improved utilisation of the JTA-CE anchor channels.

Hot-rolled JORDAHL® JTA-CE anchor channels are particularly suitable for dynamic loads and have been ETA approved since June 2013. Likewise, in accordance with the European Technical Approval, JORDAHL® JTA-CE anchor channels can be safely used where requirements for fire protection exist. JORDAHL focuses on uniformly graded load classes in order to be able to offer its customers an inherently harmonised product that can be reliably applied in any application situation.

Optimised design taking into consideration:
  • Edge spacings
  • Length of channel
  • Load distribution along the channel
  • Concrete strength
  • Location of channel in cracked and uncracked concrete
  • Additional reinforcement
  • Structural element thickness
  • Dynamic fluctuating loads
  • Fire loads up to R120

JORDAHL® EXPERT design software for JTA anchor channels
  • Efficient engineering design to TR 047

  • Fast and easy to use
  • Input via clear 3D graphics
  • Easily understandable screen output
  • Verifiable print output

ETA for JORDAHL® JDA punching shear reinforcement

With the introduction of Eurocode 2 the basics for designing against punching shear were re-defined. Consequently, the previous national approval had to be replaced by an extensively revised ETA that was not only formal but also substantial in content.

The basics for the new design against punching shear is a clear separation between floor slabs and foundations, whereby the foundations are in turn classified as foundation slabs and foundation blocks. The design of the JDA double-headed anchor is explicitly regulated in the ETA-13/0136.
  • Compatible with Eurocode 2
  • Design of site-mixed concrete slabs, pre-cast slabs (proof of bonding)
  • Foundation slabs and foundation blocks

  • Static and dynamic effects
  • Iterative derivation of the critical round cut for foundations
  • Projection of a fully plastic shear stress distribution is possible

JORDAHL® EXPERT JDA punching shear reinforcement design software

JORDAHL took the rearrangement of the standard as a reason for following a new path with its own JORDAHL® EXPERT punching shear reinforcement JDA design software developed for the requirements of the ETA also in terms of handling and visual appearance.
  • Efficient engineering design in accordance with Eurocode 2
  • Fast and easy to use
  • Input via clear 3D graphics
  • Easily understandable screen output
  • Verifiable print output
