The old Sparkasse LeerWittmund building was really outdated and too small for the tasks ahead. Therefore, in the heart of the town of Leer, at Denkmalplatz, a new, modern Sparkasse central office was build that blends into the historical townscape and take into consideration the existing buildings.
The new four-storey SparkassenHaus will be bright and friendly. In the future there will be plenty of room available for personal and confidential consultations. A spacious self-service zone will be accessible 24 hours a day. In addition, a forum is being constructed as a convention centre for 400 visitors.
In order to do justice to the townscape, it was decided to construct a double skin façade made from red peat-fired bricks. To attach the approx. 3,000 m2 façade surface, a variety of different JORDAHL® products were used.
The total of eight supports consists of JVA+ stainless steel brickwork support brackets as both standard and special consoles. To support visible and invisible building openings and outer corners, the F and FAR types are used. Type P is used to support normal wall areas and the NFT form is used for openings supported with pre-cast lintels.
The consoles are attached using various JTA (cold rolled), JXA (hot rolled) and JZA (cold rolled) anchor and toothed channels.
Special stainless steel JMA anchors and KT channels are used to accommodate wind loads in pillar areas.
